Waza Radio

Waza Radio is a community based platform developed by Centre d’art Waza to share voices, ideas, and cultural conversations from Lubumbashi and the wider Global South. Through interviews, discussions, sound projects, and experimental broadcasts, Waza Radio extends the centre’s mission beyond the physical space, creating an accessible channel for artists, researchers, and local communities to engage with contemporary cultural issues.

Waza Radio is part of the Lumbung Radio network, an international constellation of community radios initiated through documenta fifteen. Lumbung Radio connects independent cultural spaces and grassroots initiatives across the world, creating a shared infrastructure for broadcasting, listening, and exchanging stories beyond dominant media systems. Within this network, Waza Radio contributes local perspectives from Lubumbashi while participating in a broader collective experiment in transnational solidarity, alternative knowledge sharing, and cultural collaboration.

Waza Radio is available both as a mobile application and as an online streaming platform, making its programs accessible to listeners locally and internationally, wherever they are.
